The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is one of the most diverse engineering and scientific research organizations in the world, conducting Research and Development (R&D) in support of the Soldier, military installations, and the Corps’ civil works mission, as well as for other federal agencies, state and municipal authorities, and U.S. industry through innovative work and agreements. The ERDC consists of seven specialized laboratories combining all research and development (R&D) capabilities of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers into one organization. Four of those laboratories are located at ERDC’s headquarters in Vicksburg, Mississippi, including the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL). The Coastal Engineering Branch (CEB) is one of nine Branches in CHL. The CEB provides research and development products to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense, and other U.S. Government agencies pertaining to navigable waterways, coastal sediment systems, dredging processes, and network analysis and optimization, and related engineering challenges. This thriving R&D organization is currently seeking researchers with backgrounds in coastal science and navigation engineering to join its internationally recognized team. Researchers are encouraged to publish in peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at national and international conferences. Specialty areas of interest include dredging technology, processes and operations performance; engineering analyses on regional marine navigation systems; and, innovative large-scale, geomorphic assessment techniques, analyses, and numerical modeling of regional and project-specific coastal systems. ERDC careers offer competitive salaries, graduate-level education and other professional development opportunities, outstanding benefits, opportunities for exciting world travel, and a unique chance for U.S. Citizens to serve your Nation!
