April 20, 2018Press Releasesasbpa_ed

ASBPA submits Testimony on Army Corps – Civil Works Budget to House Appropriations Committee.

As Congress takes up FY19 appropriations legislation, ASBPA submitted “Outside Witness Testimony for the Record” to the House Energy & Water Appropriations sub-committee with a focus on three areas of the Army Corps of Engineers-Civil Works budget:

  • Shore Protection, construction – We’re requesting $75 million, a $25 million increase over FY18.
  • Regional Sediment Management – We’re requesting $4.5 million for RSM, a $1 million increase over FY18; and $2 million for Beneficial Use of Dredged Material (CAP 204), $0.5 million increase over FY18.
  • Coastal Data and Research – We’re requesting that budgets are at least maintained at current levels for the National Coastal Mapping Program, Coastal Ocean Data System, Coastal Inlet Research Program, Coastal Field Data Collection Program.
