The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) has developed an interactive web tool designed to introduce high school and college students interested in science and engineering to opportunities in the coastal field.
The ASBPA Coastal Universities Guide is available now at: https://asbpa.org/get-involved/coastal-universities-guide/.
The guide contains information on over 100 universities nationwide (and growing) that have coastal engineering, geology, policy, and oceanography-related programs. Students can easily explore these programs visually by scrolling around the map, or by searching any keywords of interest. For each university the guide identifies degrees offered, research keywords, and a link to the program web page where students can find more information including where to apply.

“This is an incredibly helpful tool that is convenient if you know exactly what program you’re interested in or just generally browsing. You type in a keyword, such as coastal engineering, and be provided with a list of relevant schools and a direct link to their program web pages” Taylor Zimmerman – ASBPA Students & New Professionals co-chair.
