ASBPA is now accepting award nominations for federal officials and Members of Congress who champion coastal causes at the national and/or local level.
The ASBPA Government & Policy Awards will be presented during the ASBPA 2022 Coastal Summit to be held virtually on March 29 – 31, 2022.
2022 Coastal Summit Award Categories Include:
Congressional Awards:
Coastal Advocate
ASBPA’s highest congressional award, a lifetime achievement award for a Member of Congress.
Friend of the Coast
Congressional award for shorter term or more project-specific contributions.
Congressional Staffer
Award for a staff member who works for a Member of Congress or congressional committee whose efforts promote beach preservation and facilitate project requests.
Federal Agency Awards:
The Corps of Engineers Award
The Corps award honors a member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who contributed to the cause of beach management and preservation.
Agency Award
The Agency award is given to a staff member at a federal agency for their efforts to improve the health of U.S. coastlines.
Media Award:
Friend of the Coast Media Award
The Friend of the Coast Media award is given to an individual journalist or media outlet for exceptional coverage of coastal news.

Any ASBPA member can submit a nomination via the online form. All nominations should include a brief description of accomplishments with optional support materials.
