In collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, CSBPA kicked off a California “Snap the Sand” campaign at the September 2022 ASBPA National Coastal Conference. SandSnap is a community-developed tool for collecting beach sediment grain size information, essential for engineers, scientists, and coastal professionals to understand how our beaches and coastal habitats may respond to and recover from erosion.
We are on a campaign to map the entire California coastline and need your help – we hope you and your family, friends, and colleagues will join us. All you need is a smartphone and a U.S. coin to participate! See SandSnap webpage SandSnap: A Citizen Science Project (Hub) (arcgis.com) and below for more information. Your photos will help build a national database about our beaches!
Please consider joining the ASBPA.
