ASBPA Joins CSO on Updated Beach and Inlet Management Policy

June 7, 2024Press Releasesasbpa_ed

The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association is pleased to join with our partners at the Coastal States Organization to release the Joint Beach & Inlet Management Policy. The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) is dedicated to merging science and policy to preserve, protect, and enhance the beaches, shores, and coastal systems of the United States of America. The Coastal States Organization (CSO) represents the nation’s coastal states, territories, and commonwealths on ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes issues. Together our organizations represent state, local government, industry, academic, and community stakeholder interests in managing and maintaining healthy beaches, dunes, and coastal inlets together with responsible coastal
development.

The joint policy is an update from the 2022 version and includes policy recommendations on five areas:

  • Sediment Management
  • Permitting
  • Funding
  • Development
  • Research

We invite you to read the joint policy statement and recommendations by clicking here.
