Shore & Beach accepts rolling submissions for general issues; deadlines for dedicated issues are as presented. Shore & Beach is a peer-reviewed journal published by the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association. Shore & Beach encourages submissions of articles on a broad range of topics related to shore and beach issues throughout the world.
Articles should be of interest to an intelligent, non-specialized audience. They may cover topics of scientific discovery, recent policy efforts, responses to storm or hurricane events, or recent project development.
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically, as a Word document, and should be accompanied by a separate document containing the names and full contact information, including email addresses, of at least five people who could serve as peer reviewers. Peer reviewers will be asked to review the manuscript within approximately two weeks’ time. Peer reviewers must have no conflict of interest (e.g., may not be working on a project with any author of a paper).
Abstracts should be between 50 and 250 words and should include the reason the paper was written or the study conducted; essential background material; basic study design or methodology, if applicable; and a summary of the major findings or conclusions.
