The ASBPA is seeking nominations for the 2025 Best Restored Shore Awards to recognize projects which enhance the environment, particularly on low-energy and moderate-energy shorelines. ASBPA seeks to award well-designed and implemented projects focused on restoring natural resources to enhance shoreline resilience by addressing environmental degradation, storm impacts, climate change, and sea level rise – factors which increasingly threaten the nation’s coastal, estuarine, and Great Lakes communities.
Whether a project involves an estuary or a Great Lake, a mangrove or an oyster reef – if it resulted in recreating thriving habitats or improved water quality to benefit multiple uses and aid local economies, we invite you to nominate a project.
Nominations can include:
Nominations are due by July 15, 2025 to the online submittal form https://asbpa.org/asbpa-best-restored-shore-award-nomination-form/
Recipients will be notified by August 1, and will arrange a designated representative to be present at the award ceremony on October 8 in Long Beach, CA during the ASBPA National Coastal Conference. ASBPA will prepare a press release and social media to celebrate the award recipients, and awardees agree to provide a press release to their local media.
All nominations should be for projects that have completed construction by Summer 2023. This is to allow a more complete reporting on successful outcomes and lessons learned.
