The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association offers several tools for the coastal community.
The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association offers several tools for the coastal community.
The ASBPA National Beach Nourishment Database provides National-scale statistics on U.S. communities beach nourishment efforts over the last century (Elko et al. 2021). The database has been compiled over the last two decades and is updated annually by ASBPA membership.
The Coastal Universities Guide is an interactive map-based tool for high school or college students looking for an undergraduate or graduate coastal program.
The Guide was developed by ASBPA’s Students and New Professionals. The goal is to recruit smart young minds already interested in science and math to become coastal geologists, engineers, and nearshore oceanographers. Please help share it with students, academics, and guidance or career counselors.
Furthering the goal of science translation, ASBPA is launching a National Tools Showcase as a virtual platform for presenting different tools, their uses, new updates, and how to contribute to datasets or development to ASBPA members.
The National Tools Showcase will be held once a quarter on the second Thursday of month at 2pm Eastern. It will be hosted via zoom and highlight two tool demos from industry, academia, or agency partners in a one hour block.
Please consider joining the ASBPA.
