Welcome to Shaping Shores, the Centennial podcast of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association. For nearly a hundred years, ASBPA has united people across science, policy, and practice to preserve U.S. shores and beaches.

Dr. George has been involved in sediment management, coastal and ocean geological processes, and coastal management for more than 20 years. Primarily working in California and along the West Coast, he has conducted research into littoral zones related to headlands, led the production of several regional sediment management plans spanning hundreds of miles, and provides technical support to local and regional projects seeking to innovate solutions in a resource-scarce environment. He runs a national research program for collaborative science in estuaries and along coastlines for NOAA.
