How much do you know about the coast?
Sure, you love living along the coast, or working or playing there. You get to the beach whenever you can (maybe not as often as you’d like), and you’ve seen it in summer and winter, in busy times and quiet times.
But how much do you and your readers know about that beach? About its issues, about coastal science, about the forces that change its shape and size, and about what it provides to your community environmentally, economically and recreationally?
Let us tell you—and the audiences you serve—a little about your coasts and their issues every month.
We’re the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association, working to preserve and protect our nation’s shorelines since 1926. We serve members nationwide, publishing a quarterly peer-reviewed technical journal and a monthly e-newsletter, and putting on two national conferences annually that focus exclusively on coastal issues. Our members include coastal scientists and regulators, policy makers and professors, government officials and private citizens—and people who just want to protect the coast.
Via the American Beach News Service, we send you two e-releases a month (at least) on issues pertaining to the coast, written in a concise and accessible style that will be both informative and insightful. You’re welcome to run them as is (give us credit, of course) or use them as a jumping-off point for a larger story that we’d be happy to help you with for background and experts. We’ll also provide your readers with access to our website where they (and you) can find more information on coastal issues and concerns.
